Favorite Things Friday-Labor Day Edition

Posted by on Aug 31, 2012 in Uncategorized

It’s the Friday before the long weekend and, if you’re anything like the staff at Albuquerque The Magazine, you’re probably trying to make the most of your weekend. Here are a few things that we’re doing this weekend:

The New Mexico Wine Festival at Bernalillo wraps up the summer with the  largest wine festival in New Mexico! Great music, arts and crafts, and food provide a perfect backdrop for wine, wine, and more wine! Starting tomorrow and lasting through Monday from noon–7 p.m., the wine festival will cost $12 for adults (which includes wine glass and wine tasting) or $13 online for adults (which includes wine glass, wine tasting, and quick entry). Cheers!

This weekend marks the end of the Albuquerque Isotopes baseball season but rest assured, there are still plenty of hot dogs, nachos and beers to be consumed. The ‘Topes play the Omaha Storm Chasers tonight at 7:05 p.m., tomorrow at 8:05 p.m., Sunday at 6:05 p.m. and Monday at 1:35 p.m. We expect to see you root, root, rooting for the home team this weekend!

Don’t miss Red Bull’s street bike freestyle athlete Aaron Colton as he speeds into Albuquerque this weekend. He is one of the best in the world at maneuvering his massive street bike into some of the most jaw-dropping stunts you’ve ever seen. Check him out today and tomorrow at Napa Speedway and tomorrow at 10:30 p.m. on Central Ave. and Third St.

For those of you who want to embrace your artsy side this weekend and are a Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholder, enjoy free access to The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History tomorrow and Sunday. Enjoy their program Museums on Us every first full weekend of each month.
