The Best of the Best: Please Weigh In!

Posted by on Dec 14, 2009 in Uncategorized

_DSC0298Every year, we have a blast putting together our Best of the City issue. This year—our fifth time compiling this monster (weighing in at 340 pages)—was no exception. We bulldozed our way through more than 10,000 reader votes, tallying your favorites for Best Burrito, Best Pizza, Best Local Business Owners, and about 150 more. It’s always so much fun—after all, we spend the rest of the year giving you our suggestions for things to do, places to see, and food to eat in ABQ. Our December/January issue is all about what you like. Then we celebrate the winners with our Best of the City Party (check out some photos here!). This year, more than 80 vendors showed off their goods at Isleta Casino and Resort—food, drink, music, goods, and so much more—all to raise money for Joy Junction.

_DSC0205But now that the craziness of putting together the issue and throwing the party is through, we’d love to hear from you. We’re already thinking about next year’s issue and event, so we’re opening up blog comments so you can tell us what you think. How’d you like the party? What winners were you happy to see featured? Do you have any favorites that didn’t make the list this year?

Everyone seemed to impressed with the snaussage distribution, and rightly so. It’s so difficult to pick just one kind of burrito as best, though!

I had assumed that Golden Pride would have had a stronger showing, but then again, poultry isn’t always highly valued.
