This weekend closes out the last week of January; let’s celebrate the new month of February with some Albuquerque fun as if it’s a whole (new) New Year again! Here are a few things that will keep us entertained this weekend:
Grab your cowboy hat and head over to the New Mexico Stampede PRCA Rodeo at Santa Ana Star Center today and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. Expect some excitement and rowdines at the fastest growing PRCA rodeo in New Mexico where Bull Riding, Bareback Bronc Riding and Steer Wrestling will keep you on your feet. Tickets start at $15.50. And don’t forget, tonight is Tough Enough to Wear Pink night.
The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art is proud to open its newest exhibit, “Filigree and Finery: The Art of Spanish Elegance,” to the public tomorrow through May 27. New Mexico was one of the only places in the country where one could find filigree jewelry where travelers remarked upon its quality as early as the 1840’s. This exhibition will showcase both historic and contemporary pieces of fine, elegant Spanish art. The gallery is free to view.
It’s cold outside, and what better way to relieve those sniffles is a nice bowl of soup? Or more? From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow, come to the Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico Souper Bowl so you can sample some of the city’s most delectable soups and desserts from 40 different restaurants. Attendees will enjoy live music and the chance to win prize packages while knowing they are helping the hungry on our state. Tickets can be bought at the door for $45 until 1 p.m.
What are YOU doing this weekend?
